Rock Steady

This rock formation at the Grand Canyon really stood out to me. According to Wikipedia, geologists say that the layers of rocks that have been exposed by the elements are more than 14 million years old. Of course, there is no way to prove the validity of such an estimate or claim. However, just by looking at the Grand Canyon and how vast it is, we can safely say that the Colorado river has been cutting through this basin for the longest time. I was rather intrigued by this huge rock that stood above all other rock formations. Its chiselled rock face speaks how the elements have bounded on it and yet, it continued to stand tall. There was no other rock formation at the Grand Canyon that stood out quite like it. It reminded me of our God as our rock.
NO OTHER ROCK LIKE OUR GOD
“For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect.”
– Psalm 18:31-32
David broke out in adoration of God when he thought of Him as his rock. Truly, He is a God that stands above any other person or thing. There is no one quite like our God. There is no other God like our Lord, majestic and sovereign over all things. There is also no God who is a rock like ours. The Lord and His presence are like a shield and a rock that we can find refuge and protection in. David had a deep appreciation of God as his rock. It is the Lord who armed him with tremendous strength to face any challenges. The Lord also made his way perfect. Young people, we should never doubt what God allows us to go through in life. He would make all things perfect along life’s road. Let’s learn to always trust in the Lord as our rock. Let’s stand in awe of Him, adore and praise Him always.
