“COMMITTED TO MY TRUST”

(I) HOW SHOULD WE SEE THE GOSPEL?

1. It is called “The gospel of the blessed God” (1 Timothy 1:11)

2. It is centered in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 3:16)

a) God manifested in the flesh

b) Justified by the Spirit

c) Seen by angels

d) Preached among the Gentiles

e) Believed on in the world

f) Received up to glory

(II) HOW SHOULD WE SEE THE GOSPEL MINISTRY?

1. It has to be very active (1 Timothy 1:3-10)

a) Battling false teachers

b) Teaching people how to have a pure heart of love

2. It is a ministry that has been entrusted (1 Timothy 1:11)

a) The Gospel is entrusted

b) With it the ministry of the gospel is entrusted

c) God Himself has entrusted this ministry to us

(III) APPRECIATION OF BEING ENTRUSTED WITH THIS MINISTRY

1. With deep appreciation of being enabled (1 Timothy 1:12)

2. With deep humility of being put into the ministry at all (1 Timothy 1:12)

a) Consciousness of the sinful past (1 Timothy 1:13)

c) Consciousness of God’s mercy (1 Timothy 1:13)

3. With deep adoration

a) Of God and His grace (1 Timothy 1:14)

b) God and His faith in us

c) God and His love for us

d) God and His majesty (1 Timothy 1:17)
