Text: Proverbs 16
30 May 2004

Dear Parents,

ALL WITHIN THE PALE OF GOD’S WILL
How important it is to have both knowledge and faith that nothing is outside God’s will! Let us consider this truth expressed in this intriguing text.

The LORD has made all for Himself,
Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.
Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD;
Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.

Proverbs 16:4-5

DYNAMIC ANSWERS TO PUZZLING QUESTIONS
Children will necessarily ask all kinds of questions about life. They will also ask questions about God. Every effort must be made to answer their questions. Answers are available! Children need to have a dynamic understanding and faith in God!

The question of the presence of wickedness will inevitably come up. Children need to be assured that God is still in absolute control of everything in the world!

1. “The Lord has made all for Himself”

This may be explained in the following ways to children:-

a) God has a divine will or plan.

b) Both the good and the wicked are in that great plan.

c) We may not always understand or appreciate that divine plan.

d) God does not always explain His divine will or plan.

e) Nevertheless, God will work all things out for His own glory!

2. “None will go unpunished”

We need to be realistic when we talk about the wicked. The following thoughts may be emphasized:-

a) Wickedness may seem to prevail.

b) The presence of evil may seem very formidable and daunting.

c) The wicked however will not prevail.

i) They are an abomination to the Lord.

ii) They may seem invincible – but that is not true.

iii)The wicked will be punished by the Lord – one day!

A DYNAMIC VIEW OF THE LORD AND HIS WILL
We must always present a dynamic view of the Lord and His will at all times! There is no need to fear the presence of evil in the world! It is possible to have great confidence in God at all times!

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
