Text: Proverbs 15
25 April 2004

Dear Parents,

TEACHING CHILDREN HOW TO LOOK AT THINGS POSITIVELY
Let us ever seek to teach our children how to look at things in the most positive manner. Let us ponder this text with great enlightenment.

The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
And a good report makes the bones healthy.

Proverbs 15:30

We are surely reminded of what the Lord Jesus taught on a similar subject.

The lamp of the body is the eye.
If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in you is darkness,
How great is that darkness!

Matthew 6:22-23

Let us ponder these challenging lessons that we must seek to teach our children.

1. Look at things positively

When one sees things with “light in the eyes” there will always be that special joy in the heart.

2. Look for things that promote health and happiness

When one looks for things that promote positive reinforcement, good things will result. There will indeed be a great sense of well-being all the time!

UNDERSTANDING WHAT JESUS TAUGHT
The Lord Jesus took time to explain how the way one looks at life affects everything.

1. If the eye is good

If one has a good eye, then that eye of discernment will bring great light to the person.

2. If the eye is bad

On the other hand, if a person has a bad eye, and he looks at life from a dismal standpoint, then he will bring to himself great darkness.

CHILDREN CAN LEARN HOW TO LOOK AT LIFE POSITIVELY
Children become what they are taught. Let us be deeply challenged to learn how to look at life with a good eye! May light be theirs always.

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
