“THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS”

 

(I) THE NAME OF THE LORD

He is known by many precious titles/names

1. The God of Israel (Jeremiah 33:4)

2. The LORD of hosts (Jeremiah 33:11)

3. The LORD (Jeremiah 3314)

4. The LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 33:16)

 

(II) THE NEW NAME OF JERUSALEM

1. The new name of Jerusalem

“THE LORD OUR REIGHTEOUSNESS” Jeremiah 33:16

 

2. The significance of this new name

a) The old name is now obsolete

b) The new name signals a number of changes

i) A Branch of Righteousness will grow up to David

ii) He will be the Messianic Ruler

iii) A new order will commence

iv) The Millennial Kingdom will be established


(III) THE CONTEXT OF THE NEW COVENANT

1. The New Covenant is in mind (Jeremiah 31:31; 33:19-22)


2. The New Covenant begun (Matthew 26:28)


3. The New Covenant yet to be fully established

 

(IV) PROPHECIES OF THE NEW COVENANT YET TO BE FULFUILLED

1. The 2nd Advent of Christ


2. The establishment of the Millennial Kingdom


3. Our faith in the Lord and His word
