Text: Proverbs 28
16 December 2007

Dear Parents,

JUSTICE
How do we teach our children the way of justice? How do we help them to love and defend the way of justice? Difficult as this may seem, we must spare no effort teaching our children to choose justice!

EVIL VERSUS JUSTICE
One of the ways in which we can teach our children is to point out the difference between justice and evil. Let us take time to ponder the following text.

Evil men do not understand justice,
But those who seek the LORD understand all.

Proverbs 28:5

1. Evil is more than just a concept

This is something that we must seek to teach our children! When evil grips the heart, it will create “evil men”.

2. The idea of “evil men”

This is certainly an easier thing to understand! Compare and contrast good and evil men and the differences would stand out without too much difficulty!

3. “Those who seek the Lord”

There are those who stand out against evil men! These are well described:-

a) They seek the Lord.

b) They seek to understand His laws.

c) They are then able to discern what evil really is.

i) Evil men commit wicked deeds.

ii) Evil men forsake the laws of God.

iii) Evil men are a abomination to God.

d) Those who seek God will understand well the difference between justice and evil.

CHALLENGED TO GUIDE OUR CHILDREN WELL
Let us be deeply challenged to guide our children in the ways of God! To steer them away from the paths of evil would keep them safe!

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
