Text: Proverbs 31
12 April 2009

Dear Parents,

GOOD TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN WHAT REALLY MATTERS
It is important to teach our children the things that really matter. It is good to teach them how to separate the two concepts:-

1. Things of Primary Importance

2. Things of Secondary Importance

AN EXAMPLE OF FOCUSING ON THE THINGS THAT MATTER
Many dream of a life of ease if not luxury! The reality of life is that the majority of people do not begin life on a luxurious note! Many have to struggle to make ends meet! The primary thing is to have the right spirit and the right perspective of life.

She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.

Proverbs 31:14

A significant analogy

1. Merchant ships

a) This would describe a person with a strong spirit.

b) It is also descriptive of a person who is entrepreneurial.

c) She has the courage to take calculated risks.

d) She is s good investor.

2. Movement from collecting wool and flax to the shipping line

a) There was a humble beginning.

b) Some money must have been made from selling the clothes made.

c) This money is not wasted or hoarded.

d) This money is invested well.

TURNING POVERTY AROUND
The excellent wife seeks to do her share in providing for the family! She contributes significantly to turn poverty around!

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
