Text: Proverbs 31
7 June 2009

Dear Parents,

MANY YEARS LATER
The following text describes a scene “many years later”.

She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.

Proverbs 31:22-24

1. Her husband

a) He is not outdone by his good wife.

b) He makes his mark in life and society too.

c) He sits among the elders of the land.

i) He is now one of the “elders” of the land.

ii) He contributes his wisdom and experience to the council of elders.

2. The wife

a) She has learned to look after herself well.

i) She dresses well.

ii) Her dressing befits her success in life.

b) She continues to do what she did when she first started out in marriage.

i) She continues to be hardworking.

ii) She is industrious.

iii) The quality of her goods is well maintained and if anything, it has gone up.

THE LATTER YEARS ARE OFTEN THE HARDEST
But by dint of diligent hard work and the grace of God, it is possible to succeed.

Prayerfully,
Pastor Charlie
