SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE

A GLORIOUS WEEK OF LEARNING DEEP TRUTHS AT CAMP

Thank God for a glorious week of learning deep spiritual and eternal truths at the Family Camp (16-21 March 2014). Let us do our part in making sure that the lessons learned would not be in vain.

POST-FAMILY CAMP

What can we do to ensure that what we have learned would stay with us for a good long time? Let us ponder Paul’s wonderful advice in the following text.

If then you were raised with Christ,
Seek those things which are above,
Where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
                                                                             Colossians 3:1-2

1. Raised with Christ

a) We are raised with Christ

b) Just as we are also crucified with Him

c) Our sense of identification with Christ must include this aspect

2. Seek those things which are above

a) Heavenly things

b) Eternal things

c) Spiritual things

3. These words are said in contrast to:-

a) Earthly things

b) Ephemeral things

c) Things that have no eternal value or significance

4. Set Your Mind on things above

a) Seeking is one thing

b) Setting your mind is another

c) The challenge is to train our mind to dwell on things of the Lord!

LIVING FOR THE LORD
Is it possible to live like that? The simple answer is “Yes!” What would it take to succeed?

1. God’s grace

2. God’s power

3. God’s Spirit working mightily in us

Let us seek to live significantly for the Lord. Let us ask the Lord to enable and empower us so that we can live significantly and bring glory and honour to the Lord.
