(I) A SPECIAL WORD TO MOSES

1. Appointments

a) Moses to be as God

See, I have made you as God to Pharaoh (Exodus 7:1)

b) Aaron as a prophet

Aaron your brother shall be your prophet (Exodus 7:1)

2. Message(s)

a) You shall speak all that I command you (Exodus 7:2)

b) Aaron shall tell the Pharaoh to send Israel out of his land (Exodus 7:2)

3. Divine Acts

a) A profound decision

And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart (Exodus 7:3)

b) Signs and wonders

I will multiply My signs and wonders in the land of Egypt (Exodus 7:3)

4. Foreknowledge of Pharaoh’s response

a) Pharaoh will not heed you (Exodus 7:4)

b) So that God may lay His hand on Egypt

c) That He may bring out the children of Israel out of Egypt

i) My armies

ii) My people (Exodus 7:4)

d) Great judgments forewarned (Exodus 7:4)

5. Results

a) The Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD (Exodus 7:5)

b) When I stretch out My hand on Egypt

c) And bring out the children of Israel from among them (Exodus 7:5)

(II) OBEDIENCE OF MOSES AND AARON

1. Then Moses and Aaron did so (Exodus 7:8)

2. Just as the LORD commanded them, so they did (Exodus 7:8)

(III) COMMENTARY

1. Moses was 80 years old (Exodus 7:9)

2. Aaron was 83 years old (Exodus 7:9)

They began their ministry at their ministry for the Lord at their respective ages!
