(I) THE CALL OF MOSES

1. Manifestation of the Angel of the LORD (Exodus 3:2)

2. Moses was 80 years old at this time (Acts 7:30)

3. The Burning Bush (Exodus 3:2-3)

a) Moses was drawn to see this phenomenon

b) The bush was on fire but it was not consumed by it

(II) MANIFESTING OF THE LORD GOD TO MOSES

1. God speaks

“Moses, Moses” Exodus 3:4

2. Moses replies

“Here I am.” Exodus 3:4

3. God speaks further (Exodus 3:5-6)

a) Do not draw near this place

b) Take your sandals off your feet

c) The place where you stand is holy ground

d) I am the God of your father

e) The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob

4. Moses

He is silent as he heard the voice of God! (Exodus 3:6)

a) In awe

b) In fear

5. God reveals His heart to Moses (Exodus 3:7)

a) I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt

b) And have heard their cry because of their taskmasters

c) I know their sorrows

6. God reveals His plans with reference to Israel (Exodus 3:8-9)

a) I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians

b) And to bring them up from that land to a good and large land

c) To a land flowing with milk and honey

d) To the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites

e) This plan is in response to the cries of the children of Israel because of the oppression inflicted upon them by the Egyptians

7. God reveals His plans with reference to Moses (Exodus 3:10)

a) Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh

b) That you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt
