THE CREATION OF MAN

1. What is man?

a) Mere Dust

 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into him the breath of life, and man became a living being.                    Genesis 2:7

b) Yet Made in the image of God

Then God said, “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…                    

So God made created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him;

Male and female He created them.                              Genesis 1:26, 27

c) A little lower than the angels                                                      Hebrews 2:7

d) Crowned with glory and honour                              Hebrews 2:7

e) Put all things in subjection under his feet       Hebrews 2:8

2. Who is Jesus?

a) Full humanity

i) And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us          John 1:14

ii) Made a little lower than the angels                                       Hebrews 2:9

b) The glory of Christ

i) For the suffering of death                                                                Hebrews 2:9

ii) That He might taste death for every one                            Hebrews 2:9

iii) Crowned with glory and honour                                              Hebrews 2:9

3. The work of Christ

a) Make perfect through suffering                               Hebrews 2:10

b) Bringing many sons to glory                                       Hebrews 2:10

c) The captain of our salvation                                      Hebrews 2:10

d) He sanctifies all believers                                          Hebrews 2:11

e) He is not ashamed of us as His brethren          Hebrews 2:11

f) He declares God to His brethren                             Hebrews 2:12

g) He identifies with us as the children of God   Hebrews 2:13

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honour, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
