1. He will have the spirit of God          Isaiah 42:1; 11:2

2. He will be just          Isaiah 42:1

a) He will uphold justice

b) He will establish justice

3. He will not be contentious          Isaiah 42:3

a) He will not raise His voice in rage

b) He will not be quarrelsome

4. He will be very gentle          Isaiah 42:3

a) He will not discard a bruised reed

b) He will not quench smoking flax

5. He will be strong          Isaiah 42:4

a) He will not fail

b) He will not be discouraged

UPHOLDING OF THE SERVANT OF THE LORD

1. He will be especially upheld by the Lord

2. He is The Elect One in whom God delights          Isaiah 42:1
