“Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled”

As we dwell on the topic of the second coming of Christ and Judgment at YPG, are you troubled? Sometimes, when we are so earthly-minded, the thought of the afterlife can be scary and unnerving. The Lord had told His disciples that He was going to leave them soon and where He was going, they could not go with Him. He was talking about death and His return to heaven. His disciples were deeply troubled in heart. Our Saviour took time to reassure them.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.”
John 14:1

He gently told them not to be disturbed in heart. Even as they had believed in God, their challenge was to also exercise faith in Him and in His promises.

“I Go To Prepare A Place For You”

“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
John 14:2

The Lord Jesus taught His disciples of a spiritual eternal home. He spoke of how in His heavenly Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. There are enough rooms for all who are part of God’s kingdom. If it were not so, the Lord would have honestly and plainly told them so. His promise to His disciples was that He was going to go and personally make ready a place for them. The Lord speaks of the assurance of a spiritual home in our Father’s house. Is heaven real to you? Young people, let’s exercise faith and hope in this blessed promise that the Lord Jesus has prepared a heavenly home for us.

“I Will Come Again”

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
John 14:3

Not only does He prepare a place for us in heaven, He also promised that He will come again. The use of the conditional statement emphasises the idea that Christ’s return is a coming reality. The Lord Jesus will personally come for us and He will receive us to Himself. Young people, the Lord Jesus is now in the Father’s house. He assures us that one day soon, He will come for us and we can be with Him in heaven forever. Our challenge is to make sure that we will be there with Him.

“I Am The Way”

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through Me.'”
John 14:6

How can we be sure of going to be with the Lord Jesus in heaven? The deep assurance of being in His heavenly kingdom is when we truly believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We must believe that the way to heaven is the person of Christ. No one can come to God except through the Lord Jesus. He is the true way to God. He is the way that gives us eternal life. Let’s believe with all our heart that our Lord Jesus is the way to heaven. Let’s always hang on to this blessed hope in Christ.
