A Month Of Activities To Help Us Bond

To everything, there is a season. There is a time to study and work hard. There is a time to play and enjoy ourselves. The month of June for the YPG is a time of bonding as a group. That is why we have planned exciting programmes for all. First on the line is the “Bond Bay” programme coming up this Saturday, 3rd June. We are going to Sentosa to have a great time of fellowship and fun. A whole string of exciting games have been planned for this event. There is the “Boys’ Night Out” on the 8th and 9th June where the young men are going to have a time of Bible study and doing guy things together. There is also the “Girls’ Night Out” on the 15th and 16th June. The ladies will also be having a good time of studying the Scriptures and talking about ladies’ things (the ladies love to talk). Through these activities, we can bond further as a group.

What Does Bonding Mean For Us?

In practical terms, what does bonding mean for us?

1. A Time Of Getting To Know Each Other

Bonding means taking the time to know each other. During normal weekends, maybe because of our commitments, we may not have the time to get acquainted with one another. For some of us who come for YPG, we may not know everybody in the group. I don’t think anyone of us can say that we can name everyone in the YPG. Let’s take these opportunities to know each others’ names and be familiar with one another.

2. A Time Of Forging Deeper Friendships

Bonding is also a time of building further on our friendships. Some of us may have known each other for some time now. But we must make sure we do not take each other for granted. These activities can be a time of catching up with one another. It can truly be a time of forging deeper friendships through meeting up together.

3. A Time Of Fellowship Together Over The Word Of God

Last but not least, bonding is about fellowshipping through the word of God. What is it that strengthens our bonds? What is that common ground that we can base our bonds on? It is nothing less than the Word of God. As we talk, let’s bring the word of God into our conversations. It is fellowshipping in God’s word that makes us strong.

Making The Time To Bond

Young people, will you make the time to come for these events? They are meant for all so that we can bond as one. Let’s make the time to come that we may forge deep bonds.
