By Means Of Faith
The Christian faith is a powerful entity. It has the potential to achieve great things and overcome many obstacles. Great servants of God had accomplished much because of their faith. Some had fought against great armies and prevailed. Others had the courage to stand up against cruel kings. Still others overcame great difficulties by means of faith. Young people, let’s learn to apply our faith. By faith, we can achieve much for the Lord.
Learning To Apply Our Faith
How can we apply our faith?
1. Applying Faith In Our Understanding Of Creation
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
Hebrews 11:3
By faith, we can understand that God created the universe. Its existence was not accidental. It was the Lord who created the endless cosmos out of nothing. It is by faith that we can take what is written in the Bible about creation as the absolute truth. Only a great and powerful God could have designed the worlds and made them as such.
2. Applying Faith To How We Worship The Lord
“By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.”
Hebrews 11:4
Faith must also affect the way we worship God. Abel exercised faith in how he offered his sacrifices to the Lord. His excellent offering stood out in stark contrast to Cain’s offering. His faith attested to his righteousness and the Lord was most pleased with his offering. We too must apply our faith by offering that which is most excellent to God.
3. Applying Faith To Our Walk With God
“By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ‘and was not found, because God had taken him’; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
Hebrews 11:5
Faith must also be applied to our spiritual walk with God. Enoch’s walk with God was so outstanding that he obtained for himself a great testimony. He maintained his walk consistently for three hundred years. The Lord was so pleased with him that he was taken up to heaven one day without experiencing death. What a privilege! Let’s learn to apply our faith in having a closer walk with God. Let’s seek to maintain our walk with the Lord each day.
