FINDING THE REALITY OF THE LORD JESUS IN OUR LIVES

Is The Lord Jesus Real In Our Lives?

This is a fundamental question that we must ask ourselves. The mere routine of coming to Church each week does not mean that the Lord Jesus is real to us. Stating that Jesus is our Savior also does not necessarily make Him real. It is imperative that we take time to evaluate what kind of faith we have in Jesus. Is the Lord Jesus truly real to us and in our lives? The reality of a genuine faith in the Lord Jesus can be seen through the eyes of a disciple of Jesus, the apostle John. He wrote of how Jesus was so real to Him.

Certainty In The Person Of Jesus

“That which was from the beginning which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon , and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life”
1 John 1:1

John was a disciple of the Lord Jesus from the very beginning of His ministry. He heard Him teach many wonderful truths from the Scriptures. He saw with his own eyes many miracles that the Lord Jesus did. Most of all, John saw the Lord Jesus in person after His resurrection from the dead. He had touched Jesus with his own hands. He had fully examined what He had seen and heard. There was no doubt at all. There came a deep sense of certainty in the person of the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus was not a figment of John’s imagination. He was not a concept that he understood in his mind only. The Lord Jesus was a real living person to him. Young people, although we cannot see the Lord Jesus in person, we can see the reality of Christ through the eyes of one who had found Christ real. We too can have true faith in the Lord Jesus.

Conviction In Jesus As The Word Of Life

“Concerning the Word of life”
1 John 1:1

John also had deep convictions concerning the Lord Jesus. He saw Jesus as the true Son of God. When John wrote his gospel, he began his book with a statement of faith.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” 
John 1:1

The Word of Life was none other than the eternal Son of God. He was there in the beginning with God. The Lord Jesus and His word is what that brings life to people. John was fully convinced and deeply convicted about the person of the Lord Jesus. He was the Word of life that brought spiritual and eternal life to the world. Young people, let’s learn to discover the Lord Jesus as a truly living and real person. We can have certainty of faith in the Lord Jesus as the Son of God. Let’s seek to find the reality of the Lord Jesus in our lives.
