Giving Whole Hearted Praise To God
Young people, are you looking forward to our Church Anniversary? I most definitely am. Not only am I anticipating a great time of fellowship at this special event, I am also seeking to wholeheartedly praise our Lord on this special day. The Psalmist set for us an excellent example of one who sought to praise God with heartfelt worship.
“Praise the Lord!
I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,
In the assembly of the upright and in the congregation.”
Psalm 111:1
The Psalmist put his whole heart into worshipping the Lord. He was determined to most sincerely and lovingly give honor to God in the midst of His people. This is something that we must look forward to doing as we prepare for our anniversary. The Lord deserves nothing less that our fullest devotion and praise in worship.
A Heart Awed By The Greatness Of God’s Work
“The works of the Lord are great,
Studied by all who have pleasure in them.
His work is honorable and glorious,
And His righteousness endures forever.
He has made His wonderful works to be remembered”
Psalm 111:2-4
The Psalmist declared of how the works of the Lord were truly awesome. He was awed by how extensive and great God’s works were. A person who takes pleasure in these things will conscientiously take the time to study them. He will carefully examine Bible history and events and trace the unmistakable hand of God. He will be able to see the fact of God’s tremendous blessings. There will come this sense of awe of who God is. He will take the time to remember His wonderful works as God intended it to be. There will be the constant discovery of how honorable and glorious God’s works are. As we remember how Bethany started from a small Church to what it is today, we cannot help but stand in awe of the hand of God in our lives and in Bethany. Truly, the work that we are seeing in Bethany is a most glorious one. Does our heart stand in awe of what God has done for Bethany?
A Heart That Deeply Appreciates The Graciousness Of God
“The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
He has given food to those who fear Him;
He will ever be mindful of His covenant.
He has declared to His people the power of His works,
In giving them the heritage of the nations.”
Psalm 111:4-6
As the Psalmist saw the greatness of God’s work, he was able to deeply appreciate His graciousness. The Lord is indeed one who is most gracious and full of compassion. He provides for those who fear Him. The Lord is committed to keeping the covenant that He has given to His people. He declares the greatness of His power to His people by providing for them. God has been most gracious to Bethany. All these years, He has faithfully provided for all our needs. We have sought to fear Him and He has been most compassionate to us. This anniversary, may our hearts deeply appreciate His grace given to us. Let’s praise God whole heartedly for His grace.
