The Blessing Of Sins Forgiven

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, 
Whose sin is covered. 
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, 
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.” 
Psalm 32:1-2

It is indeed a great joy when we have experienced God’s forgiveness of sins in life. David understood this when he contemplated the concept of having one’s sins forgiven. He saw it as truly a great blessing when transgressions have been forgiven by the Lord. He personally understood how horrible it felt when he did not confess his sins to the Lord. When he sinned with Bathsheba and she was pregnant, he basically deceived and schemed to cover things up. It must have been truly liberating when he finally confessed his grave sins before the Lord. It is a tremendous blessing when we are set free from the guilt of our sins and we do not have to pretend and deceive people because of them.

God’s Promise To Instruct Us

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; 
I will guide you with my eye.” 
Psalm 32:8

David went beyond just having his sins forgiven. He was going through a time when troubles seemed to surround him. There were enemies who were encircling him like a flood of great waters. It was during such a time that the Lord spoke to David these words. This was one of those rare occasions when he recorded for us the actual words of God. The Lord promised David that He would instruct him and teach him which way he should go. There would be the special leading of the Lord. He would guide David with His perspective. In the same way, we also need the Lord to instruct and teach us the way we should go. How do we get ourselves out of the mess that we sometimes get ourselves into because of our sins? We need the Lord to instruct us and teach us His ways. We need to see things from the Lord’s perspective rather than our own.

Stop Responding Like A Stubborn Animal

“Do not be like the horse or like the mule, 
Which have no understanding, 
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, 
Else they will not come near you.” 
Psalm 32:9

As the Lord guides us, our challenge is not to respond to God’s teachings as animals do to orders. A horse and a mule tend to be stubborn when it comes to following instructions. They have to be harnessed, bridled and forced into following instructions. Young people, let’s not be stubborn like animals that are without understanding. Let’s seek to be sons who will listen to our Father’s instructions and will gladly follow and obey them. When we do this, we will find gladness in the Lord. We will be able to shout for joy.
