(I) REASONS FOR PRAISE IN THE HEART FOR GOD

1. General Reasons

a) The wicked are destroyed ( Psalm 9:5b )

b) The names of the wicked are blotted out ( Psalm 92:5c-6 )

c) The wicked are sent to hell ( Psalm 92:17 )

2. Personal Reasons

a) Personal enemies turned back ( Psalm 9:3 )

b) Personal cause maintained by the Lord ( Psalm 9:4 )

c) Lifted from the gates of death ( Psalm 9:13 )

(II) REFLECTIONS ON GOD ENHANCE PRAISE

1. God as a Righteous Judge (Psalm 9:4-8)

2. God as a Refuge (Psalm 9:9-10)

a) For the oppressed

b) In times of trouble

3. God as One who is Faithful

a) He does not forsake those who seek Him (Psalm 92:10)

b) He does not forget the cry of the humble (Psalm 92:12)

c) He will remember the wicked and He will avenge blood (Psalm 92:12)

(III) RESOLUTION TO PRAISE GOD

1. To praise God with the whole heart (Psalm 9:1)

2. To be glad in the Lord (Psalm 9:2)

3. To declare God’s deeds among His people (Psalm 9:11)

4. To rejoice in the salvation of God (Psalm 9:2, 14)
