(I) OUR COVENANT-RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
“…You are the God of my salvation…” Psalm 25:5
“All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth,To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.” Psalm 25:10
“The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him,and He will show them His covenant.” Psalm 25:14
1. We have a covenant relationship with God
2. He is our Saviour – God
3. We are to keep His covenant and His testimonies
(II) OUTSTANDING FEATURES OF GOD’S COVENANT GRACE
1. Tender mercies of God (Psalm 25:6a)
2. Lovingkindness of God (Psalm 25:6b)
3. Goodness and uprightness of God (Psalm 25:8)
(III) IN THE EVENT OF SINNING AGAINST GOD
1. Pleading with God not to recall sins
“Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions…” Psalm 25:7a
2. Pleading the Covenant mercy and goodness of God
“…According to Your mercy remember me,For Your goodness’ sake, O LORD.” Psalm 25:7
3. Pleading the name of God
“For Your name’s sake, O LORD,Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.” Psalm 25:11
(IV) DRAWING MUCH ASSURANCE AND COMFORT FROM KNOWLEDGE OF GOD
1. God will teach
“Good and upright is the LORD;Therefore He teaches sinners in the way.” Psalm 25:8
2. God will guide
“The humble He guides in justice,And the humble He teaches His way.” Psalm 25:9
(V) DETERMINING TO WALK ANEW AND ARIGHT
1. Fear of the Lord
“Who is the man that fears the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.” Psalm 25:12
2. Trust
“Keep my soul, and deliver me;Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You.” Psalm 25:20
3. Integrity and uprightness
“Let integrity and uprightness preserve me…” Psalm 25:21
4. Waiting upon the Lord
“…I wait for You.” Psalm 25:21b
