Ministry to the Saints

Text: Romans 15:14-33

(I) A MINISTRY TO THE SAINTS WHO ARE POOR

“But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem.” Romans 15:25-26

1. A practical concerns ministry

“…a certain contribution for the poor among the saints…” Romans 15:26

a) Paul took time out from his busy preaching and teaching ministry

b) He devoted time to express concern for the poor

(II) A GREAT SPIRIT TO EMULATE

“It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things.” Romans 15:27-28

1. A responsible feeling of indebtedness

3. A joyous feeling of bearing fruit

(III) SANCTIFYING OF AN OFFERING

“That I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:16

1. A minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles

a) Ministering the Gospel of God

b) Presenting the offering of the Gentile

c) Praying that this offering might be acceptable

2. Sanctified by the Holy Spirit

a) Sanctified by His Presence

(IV) A SPECIAL GIFT FOR THE BUILDING PROJECT OF JAYAM IPC

“Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.” Romans 15:14
