i) To encourage believers concerning their little faith

iii) To teach believers about the invisible work of God in the heart

iv) To enlighten people concerning the worth of the Kingdom of Heaven

v) To warn people about the end of the age when the opportunity to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is ended

2. The Second Set of Parables

a) The Parable of The Wise and Foolish Virgins ( Matthew 25:1-13 )

b) The Parable of the Talents ( Matthew 25:14-30 )

c) The Significance of the Second Set of Parables

i) To teach about accountability

ii) To warn against abuse

iii) To encourage faithfulness

iv) To speak about the certainty of the Return of the Lord Jesus

(II) A DESCRIPTION OF THE RETURN OF JESUS (Matthew 25:31-46)

1. He is called “The Son of Man”

a) Jesus’ favorite term for Himself

b) It is also a Messianic Title ( Daniel 7:13 )

2. He will be attended by all His holy angels (Matthew 13:31)

3. He will come in His glory (Matthew 13:31)

4. He will sit on a throne of glory (Matthew 13:31)

5. He will sit as King (Matthew 13:34)

6. He will be the Final Judge separating the Sheep from the Goats
