(II) THE RAGE OF THE NATIONS

1. Identification of “The nations” (Psalm 2:2)

a) The kings of the earth

b) The rulers

2. Insidious Determinations of “The Nations”

a) They take counsel against the Lord

b) They plot against “The Lord’s Anointed”

c) They want to cast away the cords of God (Divine laws)

(III) THE RESPONSE OF GOD REVEALED

1. The laughter of God

“He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision”
Psalm 2:4

2. The wrath of God

“Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure”
Psalm 2:5

3. The Decree of God

“Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.
I will declare the decree:
The LORD said to Me:
You are My Son, today I have begotten You.”
Psalm 2:6-7

4. The Granting of a Royal Boon

“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.”
Psalm 2:8

(IV) BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO TRUST IN GOD

1. Instruction to trust God

“Now therefore, be wise, O kings,
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear
And rejoice with trembling”
Psalm 2:9-10

2. Invitation to trust and relate to the Anointed Son

“Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.”
Psalm 2:12a

3. Inspiration to praise God

“Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him” Psalm 2:12b
