The Whole Earth Is Full Of His Glory

THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY
God’s glory is a universal entity. There is no place on earth where we cannot see His glorious splendour reflected in His creation. This was a picture that I took excitedly as I flew back from Korea in The sun was setting and I managed to capture a glimpse of the sun’s glory shining through an array of floating clouds. It was quite a special and picturesque moment to behold. It does not matter where you may travel. The whole earth is indeed full of the Lord’s glory manifested and seen in His creation. This was what that the prophet Isaiah heard one of the seraphim declare when he had a vision of the Lord’s glorious throne.
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory!” Isaiah 6:3
He had just seen the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up. He is most majestic and glorious and His robe filled the whole temple. The angel promptly declared how holy the Lord is. When a word is repeated three times in a sentence, it emphasises and intensifies the idea of that word. This great God of ours is truly most holy and His great glory is ubiquitous in the world. Holiness and glory go very much together. The reactions of the seraphim, mighty angels, were one of great humility and respect for the Lord our God (Isa. 6:2). They did not see themselves as worthy to see the Lord as they covered their eyes with their wings. We too should always stand in awe of Him, His glory wherever we are and humble ourselves before Him.
FOR MY EYES HAVE SEEN THE KING
“So I said: Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” Isaiah 6:5
When Isaiah beheld how holy and glorious the Lord is and he saw the reactions of the seraphim, he also saw how sinful he was before the Lord. He recognised how the people he had been with were people of unclean lips. They had influenced and affected him. Isaiah was honest and humble enough to confess how sinful he was before the Lord. He had seen the King in all His glory on the throne. He is the great commander of the heavenly hosts. Isaiah could not help but feel a deep sense of remorse for his sins. After his confession, a seraph came down and touched his lips with a live coal and brought about a cleansing of his lips. The apostle Peter also spoke of being an unworthy and sinful man when he saw the glory of the Lord as He brought in a large amount of fishes into the nets (Luke 5:8). Young people, let’s seek the Lord for His cleansing. We too can be affected by the worldly influence around us. It is the Lord who can bring about this cleansing. Let’s always stand in awe of how glorious He is and remember how unworthy we are. May the Lord purge us of our sins.
