a) Abram lied about his relationship with Sarai

b) He was overcome by his fears

4. Pharaoh treated Abram well for Sarah’s sake (Genesis 12:16)

(III) GOD’S SPECIAL HAND OF PROTECTION

1. The Lord plagued Pharaoh (Genesis 12:17)

2. Pharaoh must have been warned by his advisors that he had offended God

3. Pharaoh’s rebuke of Abram (Genesis 12:18-19)

4. Pharaoh was expelled from Egypt (Genesis 12:20)

(IV) SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT

A short study of Psalm 105.

1. God will always remember His covenant (Psalm 105:8-12)

2. Intimation of Abram’s brief sojourn in Egypt (Psalm 105:13)

a) God did not permit anyone to harm Abram (Psalm 105:14)

b) He rebuked kings (Psalm 105:14b)

c) Abraham was considered “a prophet” (Psalm 105:15)

3. Application

a) The seed of Abraham His servant (Psalm 105:6a)

b) Children of Jacob, His chosen ones (Psalm 105:6b)

c) You are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:29)

d) The New Covenant replaced the Mosaic Covenant and not the Abrahamic one
