Genesis 32:13-15

1. 200 female goats

2. 20 male goats

3. 200 ewes

4. 20 rams

5. 30 milk camels with their colts

6. 40 cows

7. 10 bulls

8. 20 female donkeys

9. 10 foals

(II) INSTRUCTIONS TO THE SERVANTS

Genesis 32:16-20

1. Three droves

a) First drove (Genesis 32:17)

b) Second drove (Genesis 32:19)

c) Third drove (Genesis 32)

2. Message to Esau

a) In anticipation of Esau’s query as to the droves

b) “They are your servant Jacob’s”

c) “It is a present sent to my lord Esau”

d) “And behold, he also is behind us”

e) “Behold, your servant Jacob is behind us”

3. Jacob’s thoughts

a) To appease Esau

b) In the hope that he would be accepted by Esau

(III) SENDING HIS FAMILY AHEAD

Genesis 32:21-23

1. Sent ahead

a) His two wives

b) His two female servants

c) His eleven sons

d) The crossed the River Jabbok

2. Jacob himself

a) He remained behind

b) He lodged in the camp
