Text: Psalm 78

Subject: Passing down a glorious faith in God from one generation to another

  1. A Personal Declaration from Asaph Psalm 78:1-4
    1. To teach Psalm 78:1-3
    2. To pass down Psalm 78:1-3
    3. To teach the next generation the praises of God Psalm 78:4
  2. A commandment from the Lord to teach the next generation(s) Psalm 78:5-8
    1. That they may know the Word of God Psalm 78:5-6
    2. That they may set their hope in God Psalm 78:7
    3. That that they may not forget the works of God Psalm 78:7
    4. That they keep His commandments Psalm 78:7
    5. That they may not be like their fathers Psalm 78:8
  3. Remembering the sins of Israel
    1. They did not keep the covenant of God Psalm 78:10
    2. They refused to walk in His law Psalm 78:10
    3. They forgot His works /wonders                                                     Psalm 78:11
    4. They sinned even more against Him Psalm 78:17
    5. By rebelling against the Most High Psalm 78:17
    6. They tested God in their heart Psalm 78:18
    7. Yes, they spoke against God Psalm 78:19
    8. They did not believe in God Psalm 78:22
    9. And did not believe in His salvation Psalm 78:22
    10. Did not believe in His wondrous works Psalm 78:32
    11. They flattered Him with their mouth Psalm 78:36
    12. They lied to Him with their tongue Psalm 78:36
    13. Their heart was not steadfast with Him Psalm 78:37
    14. Nor were faithful in His covenant Psalm 78:37
    15. How often they provoked Him in the wilderness Psalm 78:40
    16. And grieved Him in the desert Psalm 78:40
    17. Yes, again and again they tested God Psalm 78:41
    18. And limited the Holy One of Israel Psalm 78:41
    19. They did not remember His power Psalm 78:42
    20. Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God Psalm 78:56
    21. And did not keep His testimonies Psalm 78:56
    22. But turned back and acted unfaithfully Psalm 78:57
    23. They were like deceitful bows Psalm 78:57
    24. They provoked Him to anger with their high places Psalm 78:58
    25. And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images Psalm 78:58

    1. The plagues in Egypt Psalm 78:12
    2. The crossing of the Red Sea Psalm 78:13
    3. His Presence by day and night Psalm 78:14
    4. His provision Psalm 78:15-16
    5. The anger of the Lord Psalm 78:21
    6. Provision of manna Psalm 78:24-25

    8. He consumed them in futility Psalm 78:33
    9. Full of compassion Psalm 78:38
    10. Forgave their iniquity Psalm 78:38
    11. Many times He turned His anger away Psalm 78:38
    12. Greatly abhorred Israel Psalm 78:59
    13. Forsook the tabernacles of Shiloh Psalm 78:60
    14. Delivered His strength to captivity Psalm 78:61
    15. He gave His people over to the sword Psalm 78:62
    16. Furious with His inheritance Psalm 78:63
    17. Their priests fell by the sword Psalm 78:64
    18. Rejected the tent of Joseph Psalm 78:67
    19. Chose the tribe of Judah Psalm 78:68
    20. Built His sanctuary in the heights Psalm 78:69
    21. Chose David His servant Psalm 78:70-72
