JESUS AS THE GOOD SHEPHERD

1. Declarations

a) I am the Door of the sheep   (John 10:7, 9)
b) I am the Good Shepherd   (John 10:11, 14)

2. Description of Jesus as the Good Shepherd

a) He has come to save   (John 10:9)
b) He has come to offer good pasture   (John 10:9)
c) He has come to give abundant life   (John 10:10)
d) He knows His sheep   (John 10:14)
e) He lays down His life for His sheep   (John 10:15)

BELIEVING IN JESUS AND HIS LOVE

1. I lay down My life   (John 10:17-18)

a) He willingly laid down His life for mankind
b) He suffered that He might redeem mankind

2. This was a great demonstration of the love of the Lord Jesus

a) Only a good and true Shepherd would do this
b) His sheep recognise the heart of the Good Shepherd
c) They desire to become His sheep

3. Finding life through faith in the Lord Jesus

a) New life
b) Eternal life
c) Abundant life
