THE REJECTION OF GOD AS KING

1. Rejection of the Lord noted in the days of Moses Numbers 14:11

THE IDEA OF A KINGDOM

1. Beginning with King Saul 1 Samuel 8:19

a) An earthly king was in mind

b) An earthly kingdom was desired

2. David as king

a) His understanding was that the LORD was King

b) He was at best the regent of the Lord

c) His prayers referred to God as King

THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN
