A. A HEARTFELT PRAYER

1. For vindication   (Psalm 17:1)

2. For protection

a) Keep me as the apple of Your eye
b) Hide me under the shadow of Your wings   (Psalm 17:8)
c) From the wicked who oppress me
d) From my deadly enemies who surround me   (Psalm 17:9)

3. For deliverance

a) From the wicked
b) By the sword of the LORD   (Psalm 17:13)

B. EXAMINING THE HEART

1. Testing of the heart   (Psalm 17:3)

a) Tested
b) Found innocent

2. Purposed that the mouth will not transgress   (Psalm 17:3)

3. Kept away from the path of the destroyer   (Psalm 17:4)

C. PRAYING WITH AWARENESS OF CONTEXT

1. The enemies who have closed their hearts   (Psalm 17:10)

2. They speak proudly   (Psalm 17:10)

3. Enemies comparted to a lurking lion out on a hunt   (Psalm 17:12)

4. Enemies who have plenty but are still oppressive   (Psalm 17:14)

D. PRAYING IN CONFIDENCE

1. That God will hear prayers   (Psalm 17:6)

2. That God will show His lovingkindness   (Psalm 17:7)

3. To see God’s face in righteousness   (Psalm 17:15)

4. To awake in God’s likeness   (Psalm 17:15)
