I WILL BLESS THE LORD

Text: Psalm 16

THINGS THAT ARE WORTHWHILE SHARING

There are many things that we may share with others as we speak of our faith in the Lord. Reading Psalm 16 will help us learn how we may share our understanding of God.

1. The Lord’s Involvement in our life

a) You maintain my lot Psalm 16:5

i) The Lord certainly maintains us

ii) Share about how the Lord keeps us!

b) The LORD who has given me counsel Psalm 16:7

i) God gives us counsel through His word

ii) His counsel may be understood as we take time to read the Scriptures

c) He is at my right hand Psalm 16:8

i) How wonderful it is to know that the Lord is close by

ii) His presence is to be deeply appreciated

d) In Your presence is fullness of joy Psalm 16:11

i) Thank God for the fullness of joy that He gives

ii) His joy is far deeper than any earthly joy experienced

2. Share about our delight in our faith in God

a) I will bless the LORD Psalm 16:7

i) Let us display our faith in God by the way we bless His name

ii) Our regard for the Lord is a good testimony

b) Therefore my heart is glad Psalm 16:9

Gladness of heart is another special way of bearing witness for the Lord

c) My flesh also will rest in hope Psalm 16:9

i) Hope is not something that everyone has

ii) It is a precious thing to have though

iii) Hope comes from faith in the Lord

iv) We can have a strong confidence in the Lord

d) O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord” Psalm 16:2

i) Let us declare boldly our faith in God

ii) Let us share that God is indeed our Lord!

Let us continue to learn significant lessons about bearing witness for the Lord!
