A PRESENTATION OF THE EVENTS OF JOHN 6

1. A great multitude followed Jesus

a. They followed Him   (John 6:2)
b. They came towards Him   (John 6:5)
c. They crossed to the other side of the sea to seek Jesus   (John 6:24)

2. Reasons why the great multitude sought the Lord Jesus

a. He healed the diseased
b. He multiplied bread
c. They wanted to take Him by force to make Him king

MISUNDERSTANDINGS ABOUT THE LORD JESUS

1. That the Lord Jesus came

a. To heal
b. To multiply bread
c. To improve their physical lives

2. That He should be their physical king

THE FOCUS OF THE LORD JESUS

1. Not the physical things

2. But spiritual things

3. He came to give everlasting life!

4. He wants us to believe in Him!

THIS IS THE WORK OF GOD, THAT YOU BELIEVE IN HIM WHOM HE SENT

1. Content of faith

a. Jesus is the bread of life  (John 6:35, 48)
b. He gives everlasting life  (John 6:27, 40)
c. He will raise us up one day  (John 6:39, 40, 44, 54)

2. Conviction of faith

a. “We have come to believe”  (John 6:68, 69)
b. “And to know”
c. “That You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”
d. Their faith held though many turned away

3. Our challenge

a. Believe in the Lord Jesus!
b. Faith

c. Cling on to our faith in Him till the end
