Text: Daniel 2:46-49
Dear Brethren,
THE IMPACT THAT WE CAN MAKE ON OTHERS
Daniel must have made a tremendous impact on King Nebuchadnezzar! This was not an ordinary man who could be easily fooled! Remember that this was the King of Babylon, and his empire was compared to a head of gold! He ruled over a very great empire. However, as he heard the explanation of Daniel, he was deeply impressed!
How deeply impressed was Nebuchadnezzar? We read the following description of how he responded to Daniel’s interpretation of his dream.
“Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face,
prostrate before Daniel,
and commanded that they should present an offering
and incense to him.”
Daniel 2:46
King Nebuchadnezzar almost worshipped Daniel! That was how much Daniel impacted the King!
THE POWER TO MAKE SUCH A DEEP IMPACT
There is no question as to how this impact came about! King Nebuchadnezzar, when he sobered up a little bit, said,
“Truly, your God is the God of gods,
The Lord of kings,
And a revealer of secrets,
Since you could reveal this secret.”
Daniel 2:47
This is the goal that every believer desires! We certainly do not want people to worship us! We also do not want people to give us too much attention, and pay us all kinds of compliments! However, if people can recognize who God really is, through our testimony then we should be very happy. Daniel was able to accomplish what seemed to be impossible, through prayer, and God revealed to him King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. He also gave Daniel understanding as to how the dream was to be interpreted. God has the power. Are we willing to seek God in prayer, humbly and faithfully, till He reveals to us His Will?
CARING FOR FRIENDS
Daniel received promotion for his part in deciphering and interpreting the King’s dream. However, even as he was promoted, he thought of his three friends. They were the ones who stood by him. They were the one who prayed with him. They were the ones who had proven themselves to be true friends. Of course, he must also petition the king to promote them too! Daniel teaches us how to truly care for our friends.
