OH, HOW I LOVE YOUR LAW

How may we learn to love the Word of God?

It must begin with knowing and loving the Lord!
A vital link between the two must be duly noted;

Only then can we begin to learn how to be devoted!

The Word must be learned with God as Teacher;

Ears He must open before one becomes a preacher.

He will give insights of faith in deep but gentle revelation;

Our hearts must then yield to God in grateful appreciation.

In time, the heart learns to love the Word of God;

There comes a sweet longing for our patient Lord.

Tenderly He teaches us how to love meditation;

There is no greater delight than in contemplation.

The love for God’s Word can deepen most profoundly;

Wisdom guards the heart from wandering aimlessly.

Understanding of God and His word now rules the heart;

From the Presence of the Lord one would never depart.
