REMEMBERING THE WAY JESUS MINISTERED
(A Communion Poem)
It was the Lord Himself who said, “ Do this in remembrance of Me;”
What else comes to mind, besides the way Jesus faced death bravely?
The heart remembers how the Lord Jesus Christ would fill each day;
There was always something to do, someone to help along the way.
There were so many with urgent needs to be met in their life;
Illnesses, demons, loneliness… besides deep personal strife.
The Lord would reach out to all and sundry with His power;
There seemed no end to work, day after day, hour after hour!
The heart remembers how He would begin each day in prayer;
He would arise early in the morning to seek His Father’s love and care.
The communion He had with His Father gave blessed assurance;
Unhurried time with God was to Jesus of utmost importance!
The heart is challenged to take time to remember Jesus the Lord;
And in remembering the heart finds renewal from our great God!
There may be days when life’s problems seem overwhelming;
We must remember God’s grace will be given to all who are seeking.
