The Worries of the Jews
Text: John 7: 32-34
THE WORRIES OF THE JEWS
The Jewish authorities were deeply worried about the inclinations of the multitudes. They were even more determined to arrest Jesus.
“The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things
concerning Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests
sent officers to take Him. Then Jesus said to them, ‘I shall
be with you a little while longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me.
You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come.’”John 7:32-34
1. The Jewish rulers identified

ii. He was speaking about returning to His Father who had sent Him.
c. “You will seek Me and not find Me”
i. When Jesus returned to His Father, His ministry on earth would be over.
ii. Many had sought Him because they needed His power to heal the sick.
iii. Many others had sought Him to cast out demons.
iv. But when He returns to His Father, they would not be able to find Him anymore.
d. “And where I am you cannot come”
i. When Jesus has completed His Father’s work on earth, He will return to heaven.
ii. But those who had rejected Him will not be able to be where Jesus would be.
iii. They would not be able to gain entrance to Heaven.
iv. They had rejected Jesus! They even had the audacity to plan and plot to kill the Son of God!
