ONE OF THE SPECIAL GIFTS FROM GOD

One of the special gifts that God has given is the Word of God. The servant of God in the ancient days was the prophet. He was supposed to proclaim the Word of God.

“The prophet who has a dream,

Let him tell a dream;

And he who has My word,

Let him speak My word faithfully.

what is the chaff to the wheat?” says the LORD.

“Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD,

“And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.”     Jeremiah 23:28-29

THE TRUE SERVANTS OF GOD

The true servants of God were people like Jeremiah.

1.  They were called by God Jeremiah 1

2.  They were trained by God Jeremiah 1

3.  They were sent by the Lord Jeremiah

4.  They were deeply committed to the teaching of God’s word

FALSE TEACHERS

They abound in every era. They were there in the days of the prophets. They were there in the days of the apostle. They are still around in our time. The following things are typical of thee false prophets/ teachers.

  1. They speak a vision of their own hearts     Jeremiah 23:16
  1. The are not sent by the Lord yet they present themselves as servants of God     Jeremiah 23:21
  1. They prophesy lies     Jeremiah 23:25
  1. They speak from the deceits of their own heart     Jeremiah 23:26
  1. They steal words from others and proclaim them     Jeremiah 23:30
  1. They proclaim false dreams     Jeremiah 23:32
  1. They are reckless people     Jeremiah 23:32

Let us seek to be faithful and true servants of God who proclaim the truth of the Word of the LORD!
