Clarity On The Part Of Jesus

Text: John 16: 28

CLARITY ON THE PART OF JESUS

Jesus was always very clear as to who He was and why He had come to earth. But many, including the Disciples had not fully comprehended who Jesus really was.

“I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.”

John 16:28

1. “I came forth from the Father”

a. This was prophesied (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6).
b. He was the Son of God (Psalm 2:7).
c. He existed before He came to earth (John 1:1).
d. He was the Co-Creator (John 1:3).

2. “And have come into the world”

a. Jesus had been sent to be the Saviour of the world.
b. He had come to be that special Light that shines in a dark world.
c. He had come to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

3. The people who rejected this truth

a. The multitude that walked away from Jesus even after He had fed 5000 people with five loaves and two fish (John 6:66).
b. The scribes and Pharisees who had resisted Him (John 9, 11).

4. The struggles of the Disciples

a. They found it hard to understand that Jesus could be both:
i. Son of God
ii. Son of Man
b. They struggled because of the following problems:
i. Lack of a deep faith.
ii. The problem of a hardened heart.

5. “Again, I leave the world and go to the Father”

a. Death was not the end of the matter.
b. He would simply return to the Father.
c. He would by then have completed all that was expected from Him.
d. Jesus looked forward to life beyond death on the cruel cross of Calvary.

4. 门徒们的挣扎

a. 他们难以理解耶稣怎能既是：
i. 上帝的儿子
ii. 又是人子
b. 他们之所以会挣扎是因为：
i. 他们缺乏深切的信心
ii. 他们心里还是愚顽

5. “我又离开世界，往父那里去”

a. 死亡不是终结
b. 祂会回到天父那里去
c. 到那时，祂已成就了一切父所交托祂的事
d. 虽然得面对髑髅地的残酷十架，耶稣依然期待着死后的复活
