A Brief Conversation With The Angels
Text: John 20: 13
A BRIEF CONVERSATION WITH THE ANGELS
The angels spoke to Mary first. If they did not, she would have continued to weep.
“Then they said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping?’ She said to them, ‘Because they have taken away my my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.’”
John 20:13
1. “Then they said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping?’”
a. The angels were of course wondering why Mary was weeping.
b. There should have been great rejoicing.
c. The Lord Jesus has risen from the dead.
d. Death had been conquered.
e. Jesus had risen as He had said to all of the disciples.
2. “She said to them”
a. Mary had made a similar statement to Peter and John.
b. The two men had run to the garden tomb while she was making her way there.
c. When arrived, Peter and John were nowhere in sight.
d. They had returned to their own homes.
e. She was right back where she started.
3. “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have taken Him”
a. She had believed that the body of the Lord had been taken away.
i. Perhaps by their enemies.
ii. Perhaps they had planned to desecrate the body of her beloved Master.
b. She did not know where they had taken His body.
i. She desperately wanted to know where she could find the body of her Master.
ii. She needed to know or she would not be able to stop the tears from flowing.
WHERE LOVE FOR JESUS IS NOT ENOUGH
That Mary Magdalene loved Jesus cannot be questioned. But what was needed was not love.
1. Knowledge of the Scripture and what Jesus taught was badly needed.
2. Faith in the Lord’s teaching about the resurrection was also missing.
The lack of knowledge and faith caused Mary to be unable to break out of her gloom!

与天使的简短对话
天使先与马利亚对话。不然,她会继续哭泣。
“天使对她说:‘妇人,你为什么哭?’她说:‘因为有人把我主挪了去,我不知道放在哪里。’”
