MEDITATION
Genesis 12:14-16
14 So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful.
15 The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house.
16 He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Abram and Sarai in Egypt
a. They fled to Egypt because of the severe famine in Canaan.
b. They had anticipated problems living in Egypt.
c. They had planned to pretend that they were siblings.
2. The princes of Pharaoh
a. The Pharaoh was the ruler of the land.
b. The princes were the ones who helped him rule the land.
c. They saw how beautiful Sarai was.
d. They abducted her and brought her to Pharaoh.
e. She would be added to his harem.
3. Abram
a. He was treated well for Sarai’s sake.
b. He was “rewarded” by Pharaoh with many presents.
4. These were not blessings from God
a. Both Abram and Sarai were wrong in their attempt to deceive Pharaoh.
b. They had failed to consult with God and to exercise their faith in Him.

14 及至亚伯兰到了埃及,埃及人看见那妇人极其美貌。
15 法老的臣宰看见了她,就在法老面前夸奖她,那妇人就被带进法老的宫去。16 法老因这妇人就厚待亚伯兰,亚伯兰得了许多牛、羊、骆驼、公驴、母驴、仆婢。
