Teach Me Your Paths

THE LORD GOD AS OUR TEACHER
The greatest teacher anyone in this world can have is the Lord God. He will teach us the way that we should go.
Good and upright is the Lord Therefore He teaches sinners in the way…” Psalm 25:8
Why would God want to teach us?
1. It is because of the Lord’s goodness
It is out of the goodness of the Lord that He would teach sinners the way. Despite our sinful ways, He still graciously guide us because of His goodness to us.
2. It is because of the Lord’s uprightness
It is because the Lord is upright, He wants to teach sinners the right way to go. He is a righteous God and He would like all men to live uprightly.
A PRAYER FOR THE LORD TO TEACH US HIS WAYS
Show me your paths. Teach me Your paths….” Psalm 25:4
1. Show me your ways
There is the righteous way that the Lord wants us to follow. It is praying for the Lord to teach us the general ways of the Lord.
2. Teach me Your paths
As we understand the general ways of the Lord, there are paths that we need to take in life. When we sin against the Lord, our path will take us away from the Lord. We need the Lord as Teacher to guide us back to His paths. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth (Psalm 25:10). He will help us to see and experience mercy and truth as we come back to Him and follow His paths. Each one of us may take different paths in life. And yet we all will learn how merciful and wonderful He is. When will the Lord teach us His paths?
a. When we are humble enough to learn
b. When we seek Him in prayer diligently
c. When we seek to follow His paths.
