Text: Genesis 24: 31-32

MEDITATION

Genesis 24:31-32

31 And he said, “Come in, O blessed of the LORD! Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels.”
32 Then the man came to the house. And he unloaded the camels, and provided straw and feed for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him.

MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

1. Laban’s greetings to the chief steward

a. He extended an invitation to his home.
b. He expressed much polite respect for the chief steward.
c. He called him, “O blessed of the LORD”.
d. He had “prepared the house” for the chief steward and his men.
e. He had also seen to the catering of the camels.

2. The chief steward

a. He accepted the invitation of Laban.
b. He went to the home of Laban and Rebekah.
c. His work was not yet fully done.
d. He had to speak to Rebekah’s family to consider marrying Isaac.

3. Provision was made for the camels

a. Straw and feed were given to the camels.
b. The loads on their backs were removed.

4. Provision for the chief steward and his men

a. Water was provided to wash the feet of the travelers.
b. The chief steward and his men were well-taken care of by Laban.

1. 拉班对总管家的问候

a. 他邀请了他进入他的家
b. 他对仆人表示了极大的敬意
c. 他称他为“你这蒙耶和华赐福的”

2. 总管家
