MY VOICE YOU SHALL HEAR IN THE MORNING

Forgive, dear Lord, when we fail to pray;

We are so busy, we have actually gone astray!

Forgive, dear God, when we fail to be diligent;

Morning or night, in prayer, we are negligent!

The need to pray is so urgent, yet we falter and fail;

The dangers are real, yet prayer does not prevail!

How we need to ask you, O God, to forgive;

Only in forgiveness, can we find true relief.

Teach us, O God, how to meditate;

To learn to pray, help us not to hesitate.

We need to learn all over again, we ought to pray;

Morning and evening, help us to seek You each day!

Let there be inspiration to seek you, as our God;

There is no one who is truly like You, O LORD.

Let the heart be moved to seek Your protection;

We have a mighty King who has compassion!
