Text: Genesis 27: 8-10
MEDITATION
Genesis 27:8-10
8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to what I command you.
9 Go now to the flock and bring me from there two choice kids of the goats, and I will make savoury food from them for your father, such as he loves.
10 Then you shall take it to your father, that he may eat it, and that he may bless you before his death.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Rebekah’s word to Jacob
a. She wanted Jacob to listen to her.
b. Her word was to be seen as “a commandment”.
c. This word was not a suggestion.
2. Details of this “commandment”
a. He was to go to the flock of goats they had.
b. He was to select two kids of the goats.
c. He would then bring them to Rebekah.
3. Rebekah’s part
a. She knew how to prepare the kind of food that Isaac loved.
b. The food that she would prepare would satisfy Isaac.
4. The blessing that Isaac would give
a. This was what Rebekah desired for Jacob.
b. She could not accept that the blessing of Isaac should go only to Esau.
A FAMILY DIVIDED
Isaac’s family had become badly divided over the years sadly.
1. The parents were divided in their love for their twin sons!
a. Isaac was partial to Esau.
b. Rebekah chose Jacob as the object of her love.
2. The brothers became quite different in their personality and character, and were not close.

1. 利百加对雅各的话
a. 她希望雅各听从她的话
b. 她要她的话被视为“诫命”
c. 她的话并不是建议
2. 这“诫命”的细节
a. 他必须到他们所饲养的羊群里去
b. 他需要选两只山羊羔
c. 然后将它们带给利百加
3. 利百加的任务
a. 她知道如何准备以撒所爱的食物
b. 她准备的食物会使以撒满意
4. 以撒将给的祝福
