Seeing The Glory Of God In His Word

The glory of God is truly awesome. It can be clearly observed through His amazing creation. The Lord God reveals Himself and His glory through what He has created in this world and the universe and they remain a lasting testimony of His power (Psalm 19:1-2).
His great glory can also be seen in the eternal word of the Lord. This was something that David reflected on and wrote about as God revealed Himself to him through His word. He was able to see the glorious nature of His word.
The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul.” Psalm 19:7
1. The perfection of the word of God
One aspect of the word of the Lord is His law. The law of the Lord would often be referred to as the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible). It can also be used as a general term for the word of God. The nature of the law is that it is inerrant. The source of the law is from the Lord God Himself. He is the author of the laws and commandments of the Scriptures. His word came through His servants like Moses and he wrote them down for posterity (Exo. 24:4). There is no error at all with reference to the word. It is totally trustworthy.
2. The powerfulness of the word to change lives
Not only is the word of God perfect, it is also powerful. It has the power to wonderfully change lives. “Converting” has the idea of “turning around.” It is meant to is turn around a person’s life. It has the power to cleanse one’s life. This was something that David experienced in his life as he learnt from the word and from his endeavour to practise it. There was that power from His word to work on areas of his life bit by bit. This work of change is not a superficial and temporary one. The word of God is powerful enough to penetrate deep within us and transform our soul deeply and even permanently. It can continue to change us from the inside out. God willing and by the grace of God, it can transform our life totally.
THE CHALLENGE TO HIGHLY REGARD THE WORD OF GOD
As I look at the glory of God in His word, I am deeply challenged to have an even higher regard for it. I want to be even more committed to reading and meditating on the word of God. I strongly believe that His word can change me further to be what He wants me to be.
The word of God can be so much more real and relevant in our life. It can truly convert our soul. Our part is to know the Scriptures by reading and dwelling on it. We are to believe in it and to practise it in our life. When we do this, the word of God can bring about an overall overhaul of our life.
