Text: Exodus 23: 14-17
MEDITATION
Exodus 23:14-17
14 “Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year:
15 You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread (you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty);
16 and the Feast of Harvest, the firstfruits of your labours which you have sown in the field; and the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labours from the field.
17 “Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord GOD.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Special Feasts to be kept
a. The Feast of the Unleavened Bread
i. This is associated with the Feast of the Passover.
ii. This commemorates the time when God passed over Egypt and spared the children of Israel from death of the firstborn males.
iii. Unleavened Bread is eaten for seven days during this Feast.
b. The Feast of Harvest
i. This is a reference to offering the firstfruits of the harvest to God.
ii. This was an act of faith that God would bless the crops.
iii. This was also an act of thanksgiving to the Lord.
c. The Feast of Ingathering
i. This celebrates the end of the harvest.
ii. The Lord’s blessings would be given to the faithful who trust in Him.
iii. God’s promise to bless His people must be believed in.
2. None shall appear before God empty-handed
a. An offering is expected from all worshippers.
b. There would be the first-fruits offering.
c. There would be the harvest offering.
3. Significance of an offering
a. It reflects the state of the heart.
b. It also reflects gratitude.
c. It further reflects a thankful faith for God’s blessings.

14 “一年三次,你要向我守节。
15 你要守除酵节,照我所吩咐你的,在亚笔月内所定的日期,吃无酵饼七天。谁也不可空手朝见我,因为你是这月出了埃及。
16 又要守收割节,所收的是你田间所种、劳碌得来初熟之物。并在年底收藏,要守收藏节。17 一切的男丁要一年三次朝见主耶和华。”
