MEDITATION
Exodus 23:25-26
25 “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
26 No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfil the number of your days.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Serving the LORD
a. By not worshipping and serving idols.
b. By heeding the leading of the Angel of God.
c. By faithful and righteous living.
2. God’s special promises
a. He will bless with adequate provision.
i. Bread and water were symbols of God’s sustenance.
ii. God’s blessing means that He will ensure provision.
b. He will give special protection.
i. Sickness is a part of life.
ii. In the past, sickness threatens life even more than now.
iii. God can take away sickness for it is within His power to do so.
c. He will ensure safety of pregnant women.
i. There will be no miscarriage.
ii. This is quite a promise, especially in the ancient days.
iii. The only people to help women with childbirth were midwives.
d. Fulfilment of days
i. This means, that there will be no untimely death.
ii. The Lord will preserve.
iii. He will protect until the day we are destined to die.
