Text: Exodus 28: 40-43

MEDITATION

Exodus 28:40-43

40 “For Aaron’s sons you shall make tunics, and you shall make sashes for them. And you shall make hats for them, for glory and beauty.
41 So you shall put them on Aaron your brother and on his sons with him. You shall anoint them, consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to Me as priests.
42 And you shall make for them linen trousers to cover their nakedness; they shall reach from the waist to the thighs.
43 They shall be on Aaron and on his sons when they come into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister in the holy place, that they do not incur iniquity and die. It shall be a statute forever to him and his descendants after him.

MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

1. The attire of the priests, the sons of Aaron

a. Their priestly clothes were less elaborate.
b. But they were to be beautifully made too.

2. Four items were highlighted

a. Tunics
b. Sashes
c. Hats
d. Linen trousers

These were made for “glory and beauty”.

3. Serving the Lord

a. This must be done with great care.
b. The clothes must be worn properly.
c. Lest their “nakedness” be seen (Improper way of wearing the clothes).
d. They would not actually be seen by anyone since the holy place was a restricted area that the general worshipper cannot enter into.

4. Venue of Ministry

a. In the Tent of Meeting (Tabernacle).
b. At the altar in the holy place.

5. Penalties

a. If they show disregard:
i. For God
ii. For the holy ministry
iii. For the holy place
iv. For the holy garments
b. God reserves the right to punish them.
c. The penalty of death may be meted out even to the priests!

《出埃及记 28:40-43》
40“你要为亚伦的儿子做内袍、腰带、裹头巾，为荣耀，为华美。
41 要把这些给你的哥哥亚伦和他的儿子穿戴，又要膏他们，将他们分别为圣，好给我供祭司的职分。
42 要给他们做细麻布裤子，遮掩下体，裤子当从腰达到大腿。

43 亚伦和他儿子进入会幕，或就近坛，在圣所供职的时候必穿上，免得担罪而死。这要为亚伦和他的后裔做永远的定例。”

在生活里有意义地应用

1. 亚伦的儿子身为祭司的穿着

a. 祭司的穿着是简约的衣服
b. 不过，他们的衣服是华美的

2. 经文里提到四件衣物：

a. 内袍
b. 腰带
c. 裹头巾
d. 细麻布裤子

这些衣物是“为荣耀，为华美”而制的

3. 侍奉上帝

a. 他们必须慎重而行
b. 他们必须正确地穿戴衣物
c. 否则他们无法“遮掩下体”（不正确地穿戴衣物）
d. 由于圣所是一般敬拜者禁止进入之地，他们是不会被任何人所见的

4. 职事的地方

a. 他们会进入会幕
b. 他们会在圣所的坛前

5. 罚则

a. 若他们表示不敬：
i. 对于上帝
ii. 对于神圣的职事
iii. 对于圣所
iv. 对于神圣的衣物
b. 上帝有权指责他们
c. 甚至祭司也会受到死刑的惩罚！
