Text: Exodus 34: 27-28

MEDITATION

Exodus 34:27-28

27 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”
28 So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE

1. The Covenant with Israel

a. They are to be carefully expressed in words.

b. Beyond the words is what is called “the tenor”.

i. The spirit behind the words.

ii. The intention behind the words.

c. Moses was instructed to write God’s commandments down.

2. “Forty days and forty nights”

a. This was the same amount of time Moses spent with God on his first sojourn in the mountain.

b. He was fasting fully the entire period.

c. He was of course wonderfully preserved by God.

3. Who wrote on the Tablets of Stone?

a. God commanded Moses to write these commandments down (Exodus 34:27).

b. It follows that he obeyed the LORD’s command.

c. He (Moses) wrote the commandments of God.

4. The Source was, of course, the LORD Himself

a. The Commandments written down were no less given by God.

b. They were not of less value if Moses was the scribe who wrote them.

《出埃及记 34：27-28》

27 耶和华吩咐摩西说：“你要将这些话写上，因为我是按这话与你和以色列人立约。”
28 摩西在耶和华那里四十昼夜，也不吃饭，也不喝水。耶和华将这约的话，就是十条诫，写在两块版上。

在生活里有意义地应用

1. 和以色列人立的约

a. 必要用话语谨慎地表达

b. 话外之意就是所谓的“要旨”

i. 文字背后的精神

ii. 文字背后的意图

c. 摩西受吩咐把上帝的诫命写上

2. “四十昼夜”

a. 这与摩西第一次在山上与上帝逗留的时间相同

b. 他在这一段时间完全禁食

c. 他显然受到上帝奇妙的保守

3. 谁写在石版上？

a. 上帝吩咐摩西把十条诫写上《出埃及记 34：27》

b. 摩西听从了上帝的吩咐

c. 他（摩西）写上了十条诫

4. 来源当然是上帝本身

a. 写下的诫命是上帝赐予的

b. 若摩西是写上诫命的文士，诫命也该同样地被重视
